The economic strength of women in Constanta: 11,200 entrepreneurs create over 42 thousand jobs

Women's private initiative in Romania is proving to be a genuine economic force that no one can ignore anymore. A third of Romanian entrepreneurship is female. The over 50 successful entrepreneurial experiences, collected and authentically told, in the volume "The Economic Strength of Women", coordinated by Andreea Paul, PhD lecturer and PNL deputy, recently published by Polirom Publishing House, bear witness to this.

Work and dreams proved to be the most powerful engines that fueled women's courage to enter the business world.
Structured in three parts, the book reveals the history of Romanian female business, the realities and economic challenges of women in today's Romania.

Compared to other European Union countries, the support instruments and public policies of interest to female entrepreneurship. The recommendations are particularly useful for women who want to start a business.
At the same time, in this volume we also found the answer to the question: how many women have succeeded in the fierce competition of the Constanta business environment?

40% from Constanta entrepreneurship is female.

More specifically:
11,189 companies with female associates or majority shareholders submitted their balance sheets, of which 7,617 are LLCs with a single female associate.

These ladies created 42,832 jobs and generated an annual turnover of 5.3 billion lei in Constanța, according to the latest available official data.
To these are added another 5.220 women – authorized individuals, active individual or family businesses, who have chosen to work on their own.

Constanta County ranks first in the country outside the capital Bucharest in terms of the number of jobs created by female entrepreneurs.
